Alcantara is a fantastic synthetic material that is designed to mimic suede. It may cost more, but it offers increased durability, stain resistance, and is easier to maintain when compared to traditional suede.
Over time, alcantara will pick up the grease and dirt from your hands which causes the surface to become shinny and smooth. Today we’ll go over how to remove the contaminates and bring back the textured feeling you get with new alcantara.
In order to loosen the contaminates within the fibers, we must apply an even layer of the cleaner in all areas we are trying to clean.
Your brush will help you out on this step. Using no pressure, use your brush of choice to help spread the cleaning foam and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Once we’ve let the product penetrate the contaminates, we’re ready to start removing them. Apply some more cleaner and scrub the alcantara using medium pressure. This will agitate the contaminates and allow us to wipe them away with a rag.
Some areas may require more attention and multiple passes to become fully clean.
Once you feel the alcantara has been fully cleaned of all contaminates, let is sit to dry. Air drying takes approx. 6 hours for it to be dry to the touch.
